Ceridwen Jane Gray SGFA

Jane was born in 1945 and attended Stourbridge Art School in the 1960's, studying for an NDD. She worked at Tate Britain before marrying and going to live in Rhodesia and then South Africa, returning to the U.K in
2004. She has exhibited widely in Cape Town, South East England and London and has works in private collections in Portugal, U.S.A, South Africa and England. She won an Award for her painting 'Alchemy' at the South African Society of Artists in 2001 and an award for her mixed media drawing, 'Rite of Passage' at The Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA), London, in 2011. In 2012 she was elected an Associate Member of that society. In 2014 she was promoted to full member - SGFA. She has exhibited regularly at various galleries, the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) and The Society of Women Artists (SWA), both at the Mall Galleries, London. She is on the Committee of The September Art Exhibition – held for the last 17 years at Wadhurst, E.Sussex - and is the current Chairman of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Art Society, and on the Council of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA) in London. Janes' mother was an oil painter and that early influence, of the house always smelling of turps and canvases everywhere, set her on a lifelong journey and passion for all things art!
