Vivien was brought up in Scotland and is a graduate of The Glasgow School of Art. Her career has been in teaching and she has only comparatively recently taken up painting again. Working mainly in acrylics, sometimes with added collage, she has concentrated on still life and landscape. She admires Cezanne, Matisse, Gauguin and the Scottish colourists.
