Geoffrey Sainsbury

After leaving school in 1972 with art among his O-levels Geoffrey painted only occasionally and purely for fun. Then, in 2001, he went on his first painting holiday to the South of France and got inspired by sunshine and shadow and started painting his watercolours more seriously. He works, mainly, from his photographs combined with sketches and memory in his studio (a converted spare room at home) in his spare time. He is a full-time head gardener at Olantigh in Wye Kent. Apart from being a member of The Pilgrims Way Artists he exhibits throughout the year at the Francis Iles Gallery in Rochester and annually with the Kent Painters' Group in Sevenoaks. Since that painting holiday he has sold hundreds of paintings. His watercolours hang in collections all over the U.K. and in Europe.
