Nick Hebditch

I am a land and seascape painter working mainly in oils and have become fascinated with the interaction of light, land, water and sky. This has led me to explore coasts, rivers and city skylines as well as a wealth of scenery closer to my home in Kent or on travels throughout the UK. I love the possibilities of mark making that come through manipulating paint, often using palette knives, pushing the abstract qualities that are inherent in the image.

I have shown regularly with the Royal Society Marine Artists since 2019 and was elected an associate member in 2025. I have also shown several times with the RBA, ROI, and RI. In 2024 I was elected a member of Chelsea Art Society where I was awarded the The Jullian Barrow painting Prize. I have shown in numerous Art Fairs and galleries and had a recent sell out with Flying Colours Gallery at The British Art Fair. I have been commissioned for many private and corporate projects including for a number of Royal Caribbean Liners and a London Underground Poster. I have written articles for The Artist and Artists and Illustrators magazines and my work appears in a number of practical Art books.
