Nigel Davison

Nigel Davison originally studied at the University of Creative Arts in Farnham and achieved a 2.1 in Three Dimensional Design and Printmaking where he won first prize in a national printmaking competition. He also works as a Graphic Designer and has a MA in Typography from the London College of Communication.

He has had one man exhibitions of prints at the Grabowski Gallery, London and the OneOneSix Gallery in Tenterden. He has also had sell out shows with the Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells and Artists Open Studios. Recently, he illustrated with his wood engravings, a limited edition artist's book entitled 'The Marsh' with poet and performer Richard Selby. He has work in the collections of Adelaide University Library, British Library, Saison Poetry Library and many other private collections worldwide. He generally develops prints from ink on paper sketches carried out on long rambles or cycle rides through the Kent countryside. His intention is to create a genuine 'sense of place' interpreting through lino prints and wood engravings what is unique and truly compelling about this county.
