Lee O'Connor

House of Mani

Lee is an ex Air Traffic Controller,  now a self-taught painter and jeweller working from her studio in Headcorn.  Her paintings are vibrant and contemporary.   She paints in the Impressionist style,  using a pallette knife to lay acrylic on in thick textural layers,  making her paintings visually stimulating as well as highly tactile,  and certainly very colourful. The trees, landscapes and seascapes of Kent are an ongoing inspiration.

Lee also creates sculptures,  often using recycled and found materials.  Her sheep fascinate and delight in equal measures and make people smile and dogs growl, which is a real achievement!

In Lee’s jewellery,  bold freedom of design ensure that her pieces are wearable works of art – each one making an individual statement.  Her silver bangles are sculptural and organic in form,  sometimes even figurative.  Her work is guided by  modernist aesthetics and a fusion of the ancient arts of silversmithing and sculpture.

She has established an impressive portfolio with her paintings and jewellery,  commanding interest both nationally and internationally and her work is represented in many galleries and private collections world wide.

Lee’s studio is open throughout the year by appointment.
